Christina Nuckols is an editorial writer for The Virginian-Pilot.

Before joining the editorial department, she covered state government and politics from Virginia's capital. Christina had been a member of the Richmond staff for more than eight years. She got her start at the Capitol in a one-person bureau for The Roanoke Times before coming to work for The Virginian-Pilot.

Previously, she worked at a series of newspapers in western Virginia writing about local government issues and business news.

She grew up in Page County and became interested in journalism as a college student after taking a summer job with a weekly newspaper.

She is a graduate of Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Va., and has a master's degree in journalism from Ohio University.
