Dan serves as a copy editor, on the night copy desk team. He also works as an online producer for PilotOnline.com. He also has worked here as a copy desk chief, assistant business editor and assistant features editor. Before joining The Pilot, he was a reporter in central Pennsylvania for the Clearfield Progress, a reporter and editor for the Washington (Pa.) Observer-Reporter, and a copy editor and copy desk chief for The Beaver County Times. The latter two papers are near Pittsburgh, his hometown.
He attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, for a year and transferred to West Virginia University in Morgantown, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree as a journalism major.
