DeAnne is a Norfolk native who spent her formative years in Norfolk Public Schools. Now that she's in her 20s, she is full of Spartan pride. Ask anyone at Norfolk State University. As an undergraduate student, she flaunted the green and gold as an NSU student ambassador and a member of the NSU Honors Program. When she graduated as a summa cum laude Vice Presidential Scholar in 2003, she wasn’t ready to leave the Spartan life behind. She returned to Norfolk State to earn a master’s degree.

DeAnne has been a member of The Pilot family for seven years. That is quite an accomplishment for someone who came on board as a teen. Before joining The Daily Break team in April 2003, she was a payroll assistant in our circulation department.

DeAnne loves music, dance, art and everything in between. In her job with the Features Department, she gets to keep up with it all.
