Duane Bourne covers the courts and the state Alcoholic Beverage Control Department.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Duane had been a journalist since he graduated from Stony Brook University in 2001 with a bachelors degree in political science. In his first job, he worked as a junior reporter and news desk assistant at WOR Radio 710 AM in New York City. Duane has worked as a reporter covering crime and the courts at the Bucks County (Pa.) Courier Times and St. Petersburg Times. He was hired at The Virginian-Pilot in August 2005.

Duane is single and lives in Green Run.
