Elizabeth has worked at The Virginian-Pilot for 16 years, and has covered education, family and social issues in the past. She is a Missouri native and graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. She has also worked at newspapers in Texas and Louisiana.

She lives in Chesapeake with her husband and two children.
