Hattie Brown Garrow covers Chesapeake and Suffolk schools as well as regional and state education issues.
Hattie came to The Virginian-Pilot in 2005 after working for two years at The Roanoke Times in southwest Virginia.
Raised in Chesapeake, Hattie wrote for The Pilot’s teen page while in high school. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and English in 2003.
