Jami Frankenberry is the Pilot’s lead high school reporter, covering football, girls basketball and baseball. He has been a sports writer for more than a decade, beginning part-time at the Pilot after graduating from Old Dominion University.

Jami worked for four years as a sports writer and assistant editor at his hometown newspaper, The Winchester Star. While there he earned a Virginia Press Association award for writing.

He rejoined the Pilot in 2000.
