Jeff Hampton has written for the North Carolina section since 1997, focusing on Camden and Currituck County where issues never end and where anybody -– the governor of North Carolina, developers, nonprofit groups, maybe even Osama Bin Laden -- is vulnerable to a lawsuit. Jeff likes to include quotes from Carolina farmers and fishermen even if they have nothing to do with the story.
Jeff has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Brigham Young University. Before finishing college, Jeff got started in the field writing for a base newspaper while serving in the Marine Corps. He is married with two sons.
