Kristin Davis is a public safety reporter covering the cities of Chesapeake and Suffolk.

Kristin joined the staff of The Pilot in May 2006, working for nearly two years in its Outer Banks bureau before joining the Suburban Team.

She spent three years at The Free Lance-Star, a daily newspaper in Fredericksburg, covering education and lifestyle. She got her start in newspapers in 2002 as a general assignments reporter for a small weekly newspaper in Warrenton, The Fauquier Citizen.

Kristin graduated from Appalachian State University in May 2002 with a degree in communications with a journalism concentration, and spent the summer as a news reporting and writing fellow at The Poynter Institute in St. Petersburg, Fla.

She is a North Carolina native and has wanted to write for a newspaper since age 7. She has a twin sister, Sarah, a music teacher, and shares her home with Bliss, a fuzzy, special-needs kitty with a respiratory condition.
