Kyle Tucker covers Virginia Tech football, high school wrestling and writes general-assignment stories for The Virginian-Pilot. He also lives in Blacksburg, Va., during the fall, covering the Hokies and writing a popular blog on Tech football for Pilot Online.

Kyle has been a sportswriter at The Virginian-Pilot since June 2003. Before that he covered nine high schools, one Division I college and the NFL's Tennessee Titans at a small daily newspaper in Tennessee, called The Leaf-Chronicle. Since coming to The Virginian-Pilot, Kyle has covered high school football, boys basketball, baseball and wrestling. For the past four seasons, he has been The Pilot's Virginia Tech football beat writer. He's chronicled four straight 10-win seasons for the Hokies, including trips to the Sugar Bowl following the 2004 season and Orange Bowl after 2007.

Kyle is a native of Clarksville, Tenn., and plans eventually to become a syndicated columnist and author. He is 27 years old, single and lives in Norfolk
