Lauren Roth covers Virginia Beach schools, both public and private.

Laruen has been with the Pilot since November 2005. A New Hampshire native, she covered town government and police for her hometown paper, The Telegraph, before moving to Pennsylvania a few years ago.

While working in the (former) Coal Belt, she wrote for the Times Leader in Wilkes-Barre, reporting on police news. For the opportunity to cover education, she took a job at the Scranton Times-Tribune. (Yes, Scranton of “The Office” fame).

Lauren graduated from Northwestern University in 2000 with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in journalism, and spent a three-month residency in Ireland writing for the now-defunct Magill newsmagazine.

She got married in July 2006 and lives in Norfolk.
