Linda McNatt, who is a general assignment reporter in the Suffolk bureau covers agriculture and Isle of Wight County. She joined the Virginian-Pilot as a correspondent in 1984 and joined the newspaper full-time in1990. Before coming to work at The Pilot, the Portsmouth native worked for the Suffolk News Herald.

A business story in 2000 about foreign competition in peanuts won her the coveted Scripps Howard Foundation National Journalism Award. She also has been honored by the Virginia Press Association, the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation and the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association.
