Lorraine Eaton writes about fitness, food, fads -- basically, anything that’s fun that’s going on in the area.

Lorraine arrived at The Pilot fresh out of Old Dominion University in 1986, just in time to help open the Nags Head bureau. Since then, she has covered cops, education, the environment, municipal government, fishing, teens and college students. She started the newspaper's program for young journalists and served as education editor for five years.

She holds a bachelor of arts degree and a master of fine arts degree from Old Dominion University.

She has won numerous awards -– local, state and national.
