Meredith Kruse leads a team of five reporters who cover the military, state and federal governments from a Hampton Roads perspective.

Meredith graduated from Cornell University in 1991 and worked as a reporter at newspapers in upstate New York and Virginia before coming to The Pilot in 1998.

At The Pilot, she covered city government in Suffolk and Norfolk before becoming an editor.

A native of suburban Chicago, Meredith lives in Norfolk with her family.
