Prior to arriving at The Pilot in 2003, Mike worked at The Journal Gazette in Fort Wayne, Ind. He has won state press association awards for education, crime coverage, feature and news writing.

Mike graduated in 1999 from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he majored in English and American Studies.
