As editorial assistant in the Features Department, Patty Jenkins is responsible for organizing the CD reviews in “Soundwaves” in The Daily Break on Friday. She also writes the “q+a” feature that highlights a local band or artist that appears in the Thursday weekend section.

Patty has been with The Pilot for over 20 years. Before coming to the Features Department, she worked 14 years in the Virginia Beach newsroom supporting its staff and providing copy for the Virginia Beach Beacon. Prior to that, she worked in the Advertising Department.

She and her husband Rick, have three sons: Drew, Scott and Eric. For five years, she was a Cub Scout Den Leader for her youngest son, and nine of his Scouting peers.

Patty is a breast cancer survivor for over 10 years, and even had her own story told in the pages of The Pilot. In 2000, she served as registration co-chair for the inaugural Komen Tidewater Race for the Cure that is now held annually at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
