Tom Robinson has been a Pilot sports reporter since 1983.

He has covered high schools, Old Dominion basketball and the Norfolk Tides, and for the last decade has been a sports columnist and feature writer. His work has won numerous Virginia Press Association awards, as well as The Virginian-Pilot's Slover Award for consistent excellence.

Tom attended high school and college in the Philadelphia area. Before arriving at The Pilot, Tom played professional baseball in the Los Angeles Dodgers' minor league system.
