Holiday cheer project in Virginia Beach needs more sponsors

The Virginia Beach Department of Human Services needs sponsors for its annual Holiday Project.

The project, which started more than 20 years ago, pairs businesses and individuals with department clients in an effort to bring them some holiday cheer. Each sponsor receives the name of a needy family or individual along with a "wish list" of items.

Last year, nearly 300 sponsors participated in the project, providing gifts and toys totaling $241,065. For more information or to become a sponsor, call (757) 437-3610.
