In going for gold at all costs, it seems Jones forgot to abide by the golden rule. Jones wants to quickly move forward, a skill at which she used to excel.
A good Knight
Bob Knight won his 900th game Wednesday, becoming the first Division I men's basketball coach to reach that mark. After the accomplishment, Knight reportedly got choked up.
In celebration, Knight decided not to throw a party - just a chair.

Against these everymen, the deck is stacked like a Dagwood-made sandwich. The Buzz has a series pitch: a competition of athletes against criminals called "Pros vs. Cons."

Baseball commissioner Bud Selig was granted a three-year extension Thursday. He'll serve through 2012 - until all the players are on steroids.

The tumor recently extracted from Denver Nuggets forward Nene was found to be benign.

It's the ultimate form of writer's block: UCLA has asked fans at home games to stop asking John Wooden for his John Hancock.

Australian broadcaster Roger Rasheed offered on-air, during a slow-motion replay, his admiration for Venus Williams' posterior. Apparently Rasheed is an off-color commentator.
