Sparkling Diversity

Archie Whitehill, a Norfolk resident since 1977, takes a look at people some may consider to be living “outside the norm,” and the issues that affect them.

Cabaret Brunch with Performers in Drag

We enjoyed great entertainment and fabulous food at Mixers today.  My camera and I found ourselves at one of Norfolk’s newer restaurants, Mixers, this afternoon and after eating a fabulous “Herb and Brie Omelet,” we proceeded to enjoy what was billed as a Cabaret Show.

The show consisted of a number of talented and beautiful performers in drag.  It lasted from about 12:30 until about 2:30 this afternoon, and the time went by much too quickly.  Everyone in the audience, certainly everyone at our table, had a load of fun.  Rather than use words to describe the entertainment, let me furnish a few photographs.

This blog is not meant to be an advertisement for Mixers, but let’s just say that in keeping with the topic of this blog, Diversity, Sparkling Diversity is most certainly alive and well at Mixers.  Perhaps I’ll see you there?

Bronx NYC

Wow, you came a ways for the brunch and the show; glad you enjoyed it.

The show changes every weekend, so you will find different performers each time. Some performers will return after a while.

You are correct, the show's hostess is marvelous. I believe she is there every week.

What a Event

I came to mixers on Feb 17th brunch show it was outstanding I have never attended a Drag show before. I enjoyed myself the trip from the Bronx was worth it. I drove down to see the one Amber and loved what I saw in her and the rest of the show. The Host made me feel welcome and I thank her for that. I am a bit missled though I thought at least to see some of the actress pic's on the site here when I logged on. If not to show all what wounderful people youi have appear on your lovely stage. I got in a group pic i hoped to see that. But all in all the show as the BEST.

Faboo!

The pictures are most definitely faboo. It's been forever since I've enjoyed a quality "show"! The photos brought back wonderful memories and a renewed desire for such entertainment. I did check out the link and was so sad that I missed out on the Indian Themed day. I'm a sucker for curry! I'm tickled pink and the teen squad and I will be making our way there within the next few Sundays. Thanx again for this blog!

Warning!

Mixers gets packed full for their Cabaret Brunch, so call them by Thursday to make a reservation or you may be left out.

It was definitely fun, Crizti

Be sure to click on the Mixers link in the blog to get to their web site if you have not done so. I like their themed buffet every Saturday, too.

What did you think of the photos?

I am sooo excited!
