Electric toothbrush thief sought in Chesapeake

A surveillance camera captured a suspect in the theft of electric toothbrushes at a Rite Aid on South Battlefield Boulevard last month.

CHESAPEAKE

Police are looking for a thief with a penchant for good oral hygiene.

The man went into the Rite Aid at 240 South Battlefield Boulevard about 11 p.m. last month and stole three electric toothbrushes, according to a police news release.

After taking the toothbrushes, he left the store and got into a green sedan, police wrote in the release.

The man is described as white, in his 30s and about 6 feet tall, according to the release. He was wearing glasses, blue jeans and a tan and white flannel jacket.

The Pilot is actually putting up a headline with a picture for a one time shoplifter? When I saw this, I was thinking it would be about someone stealing large numbers of electric toothbrushes from various local stores, possibly to resell online or something. Stealing is never OK, but obviously there are different levels of crime. I can't believe a shoplifter who stole hygiene items from one store, one time, is being plastered on here like a kidnapping suspect...
