A former Department of Motor Vehicles teller was sentenced to thee years in prison today in federal court in Norfolk for making fake identification cards and vehicle titles.
Theresa Osorio, 42, also was ordered to pay nearly $90,000 in restitution and received three years of supervised probation, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Osorio pleaded guilty to one charge of unlawful production of identification documents and one count of aggravated identity theft in October. She worked in a Hampton DMV office.
Osorio made driver’s licenses and identification cards using the information of actual DMV customers, according to the release. She also made vehicle titles to go along with the fake licenses and gave them to people who used them to get car loans totaling $89,800.
She also made fake identification documents and vehicle titles using phony information and duplicate titles from car dealerships, the release says.
Osorio worked at the DMV office from 1999 to 2007, the release says.
The case was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service and DMV, according to the release.

Ok maybe I am stupid or worse. How can a single person find a way to beat the system? Someone or others had to show her the way. Was she the sacrificial one? I hope she spills her guts. I reported a person that paid money to a DMV worker 7 months after getting a DUI and he now drives with a clean record. He told me it cost almost a $1000 but was worth it to have it all done. A clean record? Wow must be nice. Even his court records were cleaned. I checked. Tighten up America, we are very vulnerable. Report this stuff and maybe one or two will be investigated.
will the victims be notified?
My identity was sold to someone in Franklin. I wonder if DMV was involved. The victims should be notified so that they can use that info to help clear up credit. My credit had good and bad credit from this other couple. I had the good credit removed almost instantly--however the Direct TV account and the Blockbuster accounts that went into collections were VERY tough. BB finally gave it up, but Direct tv refuses, as well as Experian.
IT'S BS!!
Well, look on the bright side
At least no one at the DMV is taking speed....
