Hampton Coliseum confirms R.Kelly concert cancelled

Posted to: News

Singer R. Kelly’s Jan. 13 appearance at Hampton Coliseum has been postponed, a Coliseum spokesman said Thursday. A new date has not been announced.

Tickets will be honored when the concert is rescheduled. Ticket holders who want a refund must do so at the original place of purchase.

The postponement stems from a judge’s recent mandate that Kelly cancel his Jan. 13 date to ensure his attendance at a Jan. 14 court date. The ruling was made after the R&B singer failed to show for a court date Dec. 19. Kelly blamed his absence on a glitch in his touring schedule, which led Cook County, Ill., Judge Vincent Gaughan to make his ruling.

Kelly, 40, has pleaded not guilty to child pornography charges for allegedly videotaping sex acts with an underage girl in or before 2000.

For more information, ticket holders may contact the Hampton Coliseum box office at (757) 838-4203.
