Mary Reid Barrow retired from The Virginian-Pilot as a staff writer but continues to write Coastal Journal for the Beacon, which she has done for almost 20 years. She also writes about food and flowers for the Gracious Living and Flavor sections of The Pilot and also contributes stories to the Virginia Beach Beacon.
