Stacy Parker began writing for The Virginian-Pilot in 1992, when she was among the first core group of teen correspondents for Teenology, a section of the newspaper dedicated to issues concerning youth in Hampton Roads.
After graduating from the University of Maryland in 1997, Stacy returned to her hometown and worked as an office/editorial assistant for the Pilot’s Beach Team. She moved into the Oceanfront Correspondent position for the Beacon in 1999 and has covered stories about community events, new businesses, public works projects and citizens in Virginia Beach for more than a decade.
She has also contributed to other Pilot pages, including Gracious Living, Flavor, Sports, Daily Break and Special Sections.
Stacy is currently an editorial assistant on the Calendar Desk where she coordinates event listings for Pulse, The Daily Break and the Beacon.
