SUFFOLK
A tip just after lunch on Wednesday told Suffolk police that someone was kicking in the door of a mobile home in the 3800 block of Pughsville Road.
When police arrived, they arrested two suspects, one of whom is a 17-year-old, whose name was not released. Patrick Wayne Clark, 22, was arrested and charged with burglary and grand larceny, said Lt. D.J. George, police spokeswoman. She said Clark lived nearby, also in the 3800 block of Pughsville Road.
They are accused of stealing a Sony Play Station 2, two games, a Microsoft Xbox complete with controllers, and a water bong.
Once officers went inside the single wide mobile home, the investigation became more complicated.
George said the inside of the house was littered with marijuana plants, trash from potting soil and growing materials and anything necessary for an “elaborate home marijuana-growing operation.”
“There were pipes to circulate the air and the water,” George said. “There were plastic bags and water bottles all over the floor. Marijuana plants were hanging in the closets to dry.”
Daniel Paul Estellia, 24, the owner of the residence, arrived a short time later and was arrested. He was charged with one count of felony manufacturing of marijuana, George said.
The city’s Department of Planning and Community Development has condemned the house.
