Yes, there will be coverage of some private school state basketball tournament games Thursday on 757teamz.com. The game stories will not be in The Pilot on Friday, just highlights and boxscores.
In boys games, I will be at Hampton Roads Academy-Cape Henry at 7 p.m., John Streit will be doing Roanoke Catholic-Atlantic Shores at 7 p.m. and Dan Cooley will be at Tidewater Academy-StoneBridge at 7 p.m.
In girls games, Marc Tandan will cover Trinity Episcopal at Norfolk Collegiate at 6 p.m. and Cooley will do Wakefield at StoneBridge at 5:30 p.m.
I will post scores the minute I get them and game stories as soon as they are written.
Other girls playoff games on the schedule Thursday include Norfolk Christian at Covenant School, Norfolk Academy at Paul VI and Portsmouth Christian at Walsingham. Those scores and highlights will be posted as quickly as The Pilot Sports staff can forward them to me.

Hi Mr. Riebel,
Just wanted to put in the word that the "VISGBA" doesn't really exist anymore. All of the state private school associations with "VIS" in them have been united under "VISAA" (Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association), so the former Virginia Independent Schools Girls Basketball Association Tournament is now the VISAA Girl's Basketball Tournament, just as the boys are the VISAA Boy's Basketball Tournament.
The use of the abbreviation VISGBA isn't utterly wrong; just a little outdated.
