Who wants to be a loser?
The fat-to-fit reality show “The Biggest Loser” will hold a casting call in Norfolk on March 1 to 7.
The time and location have not yet been announced.
In an e-mail to Norfolk’s marketing office, Tad Patrick Frank, the show’s casting director, said “Loser” had received an “overwhelming number of e-mails from the citizens in and around Norfolk.”
The show is seeking teams of two for “The Biggest Loser” season six, including pairs of family members, spouses, siblings, grandparents, cousins, engaged couples, dating couples, co-workers, best friends and former teammates or athletes.
The “Loser” squad is “specifically looking for police officers, firemen, nurses, doctors, teachers,” Frank said in his e-mail.
For information, the show directs would-be contestants to logon to www.nbc.com/casting.
On the show, the teams are coached by a trainer, and vie for a $250,000 prize. Those who lose the least face being voted off the show.
Contestants must be at least 18 years old, and a legal resident. Participants should bring a non-returnable photo of themself and their partner.
The NBC casting Web site advises that they will try to meet everyone who comes to a casting call, but that they can only guarantee that the first 500 people in line will be seen. And don’t plan on sleeping out – contestants can line up no more than three hours before the start time.
Video applications are also accepted. Guidelines and an application form are on the Web site.

For those wishing to apply
For those wishing to apply for this so-called "reality" show, please read the contract all the way through and completely. Please realize that you will be signing away all rights. You will be exploited, humiliated and embarassed on national Tv, and there will be nothing you can do about it; that's the only real thing about this and any reality show. Sure, you may have a chance of winning some money(and of course, that's the "hook" they use), but you have to ask yourself if it's really worth being humiliated, embarassed and exploited in front of millions. Reality shows only exist to make people look horrible and at their worst. You will have no control over how the show will be edited, and may end up looking like someone you're not. The "producers" don't care if you're the nicest person in the world; if you have some bad moment with another contestant, good chance that will end up in the final product, and you might end up looking like a jerk-and that's what the audience will think of you from that moment on. So please, boycott the audition, or read through the entire contract carefully before signing if you decide to be on this "show". Just my two cents.
Military Circle Mall Losers
Yeah that sounds great. Let's hold the Biggest Loser audition at Military Circle mall. There are plenty of losers around there.
