Rainer Sabin joined the Pilot’s staff in February 2008. He covers Norfolk State men’s and women’s basketball as well as the Norfolk Tides.

Before coming to the Pilot, he was a sports reporter/columnist at the Northwest Arkansas Times in Fayetteville, where he reported and wrote stories about the Arkansas Razorbacks and local high school teams.

Since graduating from the University of Arkansas in 2004, he has worked at the Little Rock bureau of the Associated Press and freelanced for the New York Times and Oxford American magazine.

Sabin was born in Manhattan and grew up in East Hampton, N.Y.
