It was 75 degrees in Norfolk on Tuesday, which ranks as the No. 2 high on the books.
There's no one around who remembers the last time it was warmer; the record of 77 degrees was set in 1890.
National Weather Service meterologist Bryan Jackson said records should be broken all over South Hampton Roads on Wednesday, as a high of 80 degrees is expected throughout the area.
Beginning Thursday, temperatures will cool to highs in the upper 50s, where they'll remain through Saturday.
Don't let the winter coats get buried too deep in the hall closet: Sunday, temperatures will dip to the 40s.
