A dump truck crashed into a home in Newport News this morning.
The crash happened about 10 a.m. in the 100 block of Maxwell Lane, according to Newport News police spokesman Officer Harold Eley. No one was injured, Eley said.
The truck crashed into the living room of the home and tipped over on its side, Eley said. The owner was not at home at the time, Eley said.
There were early reports of a large fuel spill, but Eley said an officer on the scene reported only a small amount of fuel from the gas tank had been spilled.
Eley said the truck may have had a mechanical malfunction.
