HRT establishes hot line for information about The Tide

Posted to: News Norfolk Transportation and Traffic

NORFOLK

A 24-hour telephone hotline has been opened for residents who have questions about The Tide light rail line project.

The toll-free line, 1-877-456-TIDE (8433), will feature a live operator who will take questions and comments then e-mail them to transit staff for a response, according to an HRT news release. The service will be offered seven days a week.

A public outreach coordinator also is available during regular business hours to answer questions and HRT officials want the public to call the coordinator first through HRTs customer service number, (757) 222-6000, the release says.

An information center, The Tide on Granby, also has been set up at 403 Granby Street, Suite A. Residents can walk up to the information center to get information about the light rail project.

doubters like you have no education about proper planning

As a leading national planning expert in the nation, the light rail is perfect solution to meeting a susaintable word where automobiles dont have to rely on, better heavy people and quality of life. Every accredited planning school in the nation has applauded efforts of norfolk from VT, UVA, George mason, UNC, Illinois recognize that comprehensive transit oriented traffic solutions with light rail is the next wave. I suggest before you blast your comments about criticism you might read about the solution. Recommend the www.planning.org, or Center for New Urbanism.

Waste of taxpayer money

Dang, it has started. The waste of taxpayer money to sell norfolk's re-development choo-choo. Over $230 million dollars to spur development along train tracks. Glad to see that NSU is wise to the abuse of tax dollars. VB was smart to opt out of riding the tide of failure. We sure could use that money to fix transportation issues instead of creating additional transportation gridlock.

Will they be able to answer my questions?

Like, who will be responsible for this boondoggle when the floor falls out? Fraim will be long gone and so will the other idiots who pushed for this, and us, the taxpayers will be left holding the bill.

Ethan

You must remember that many of those likely to be riding the Tide may not have access to a computer. It IS still a luxury item, you know.

Excellent idea, ORF.

Wate of money!

The reason the Pilot is reporting this, is because they know... it's a waste of money! Answer the questions on the internet. Forget leasing office space from your buddies on Granby street for a kiosk.
