Langley fighter jets to practice at night this week

Posted to: Hampton Military

HAMPTON

Fighter jets at Langley Air Force Base will be conducting night operations today through Friday.

Operations are expected to run between 6 a.m. and midnight, with increased noise levels and congestion at the base, the Air Force said in a statement.

F-22 Raptors and F-15C Eagles from the 1st Fighter Wing will be part of a simulated combat exercise to test the air wing’s ability to mobilize troops, equipment and aircraft.

The simulation will include smoke machines and controlled explosions to mimic chemical and conventional attacks.
