Man gets 13 months in prison for hiring illegal immigrants

I do miss the fine selection & abundance of Asian & Pacific Islander women that San Diego had available to the discriminating bachelor. I have no plans to move back there, but, hope some of these women move here as well, legally....or even if they could find some sort of "loophole", to get here....lol

ok no one in any of your statements said anything about what are country needs to do to educate the future business owners (our kids)about how not to do this.These mexicans have families to heck we support china we support iraq why are we bringing them over and given them free housing ,food ,medical i mean we as americans are mad at a small time business man who was blind sided by verizon and that the bottom line if he wanted a pay check get it done know and the work that you have to do on this job no american will work as hard as these men did and the only reason people get mad is because you dont want to face that our country lets these things happen i mean if the borders were taken care of the way suppose to they wouldnt be here but of course if money talks people look the other way and if this family had money they wouldnt be doing any time and the young man who got 13mnths he didnt have a role at all in this and the judge told him that and said you are guilty of association and your prior record of all the silly stuff you have done in the past is truly effecting you today he was a worker too he did what he was told to do so make sure you all investigate before you turn angry

Of course contractor also said he was not interested in looking for the truth once he found a few records that supported what he wants to believe. And contractor lies about not arguing any more as well.

They are not slime, scum, low lifes, and they surely were not driven by greed!!! There is more to this story than what has been published by the media.

This company started out as a legal operating business with a crew of 10 White americans. But it's hard to get work done when half of your crew can't work in the winter because it's too cold, and the other half can't work in the summer because of the heat. And some can't dig because it blisters on their hands, and some can't climb poles because it hurts their backs. It's one excuse after the other, but then when they don't get paid for not doing the work they quit, because even though they pick and choose the days, weeks, and months they can work, they expect to get paid whether they are on the job working or they are sitting at home on their couches griping about the illegals taking the jobs they refuse to do!!

So don't sit here and post that americans will do the jobs that these illegals do because they WON'T!!! Americans want something for nothing, Always have and they always will!!!

First, the federal government should have been responsible for Katrina victims, just like it should have been responsible for 9/11 victims. Second, illegal immigrants hurt the economy because big businesses give them privileges that some Americans cannot even afford. This is because illegal immigrants stimulate the economy on a national level, though they hurt local populations where they are heavily concentrated. But I seriously doubt if any undocumented immigrant came here specifically to hurt YOU. Calling them worthless and attacking their character really reveals more about you than the immigrants you despise. People coming to America to search for a better life is no different from the Americans here pursuing the American Dream. There is no doubt that they are affecting our country in a negative way, but that doesn't mean they are bad people. Like someone else said earlier, if you are not a native American, you are the descendant of an immigrant, whether your ancestors came by force or choice. So grow up people, and stop stereotyping others who, beneath the skin color and behind the language barrier, are actually just like you-immigrants.

Last comments I read of his, he was claiming an Army General who according to all official records I could find, retired on schedule, was in fact "canned".., & instead of providing any "concrete", confirmation to support the allegation, seemed to be presenting information as fact, that I could only obtain from opinion blogs, & the like. I'm not sure yet if he just doesn't like Republicans, or just is one of those who believes everything he reads, & helps "spread the philosophy", so to speak.

I can see your point on the healthcare but as far as Americans in general not being lazy. Look at our kids. Obesity is an epidemic. Our cities are over run by people who can work but simply choose to live off of the system. Our country in general is a have it all now and I don't want to have to work for it people. Our next president is not going to make a difference no matter who he/she is. Our country has gotten worse over decades not weeks. As long as being lazy is this countries past time we will continue to see illegal immigrants everywhere. People should not be awarded for being lazy. We have a higher cost of living here so that means that American workers need $12-20 an hour to make ends meet. Where as illegals, need $5-8 an hour. They hole up in one apartment and each pay $25 a month, go to Wal-Mart and mail their money home.
I know of one immgrant who owns a 200 acre ranch in Mexico by working in the states illegally..... go figure..

New orleans should have been handled at the STATE level. The last time I looked it up in the dictionary illegal meant not correct or right would be a good way of defining illegal. I'm sorry, but I don't agree with your generalization of the people of our country. When a person/company hires illegals, they don't pay taxes for that person's wages. That will hurt you and it will hurt me. When a person/company hires illegals they can pay them whatever they want to, and again that hurts you and me and the individaul willing to work for minimun wages. Every society has a group of lazy people, but please DO NOT lump all American's in the same pot. Illegals get their medical care for free at area ER's, that hurts you and me. Illegals have no place in our society and it should be just as illegal to rent to any illegal much less hire them. I'm sick of illegals draining our tax dollars.

Arrest ALL ILLEGAL Immigrants, and send them home. We DO have Americans looking for jobs, and we DO have enough of a labor pool. If we don't then we need to come up with a LEGAL method of allowing people in other countries an TEMPORARY Passport during harvest season, or for a contractor building something. Find a LEGAL way to do it, instead of slapping in the face all those people who immigrated here LEGALLY, like MY grandparents did from Russia!

There's no debate here. Illegal means they violated the law. Unless the workers were properly documented to work in this country they violated the law and hence are illegal. No argument I've heard to date states that no alien may enter the country. The arguments are simply that those who enter do so legally.

Now I'd like to know for sure that these people paid the proper taxes for all the illegals they hired.

Poll after poll has shown legal Americans want something done about the illegal invasion. The laws are there, and have been there, now enforce them. As far as going after the cities, good luck around here. Your best chance is getting elected and making a difference from that end, because the current politicians in office have done very little other than say "It's the Federal Governments problem".

well let me tell you all that have had comments you probably dont know what the rules are either and this family was a victim of a multi million dollar company and this company has not even been investigated yet and they say they set up rules so this would not happen well when you have courses in safety classes that you seperate the immigrants because it has to be taught in spanish that should be your first clue to the multi million dollar company that oh man these folks might not be legal and when you give them flash cards to hold up when they were out on the job sights because they didnt speak english and they sure didnt understand it. realy if this company was about there business they would have verified these folks before they ever took the safety course because im sure they got payed for being there.It is a sad day when you send a family to jail for a crime that is being done by thousands every day and when people abuseing children get less time then this

Yeah, you're right richarddr, we should arrest all of the illegal workers buidling homes, picking lettuce, and washing dishes. This way we will have no help to do the menial labor that arrogant spolied 401k American kids won't do. That's a fantastic idea, since the economy is about to tank now anyway, we can $5 a head for lettuce too. Who do you think is going to do all this manual labour? certainly NOT the new generation of "me" workers who refuse to listen to authority, or have parents that teach a good work ethic. I'm not for opening the border, but the ones who are here, we might as well give amnesty, force to pay taxes, and shut down the border. Hopefully in reverse order.

Lets get the rest of the contractors, being they are independents or working for any of the local governments doing contract work for them. As I have said repeatedly I see many dark skinned workers throughtout the Tidewater area doing differenet tasks, and as you approach them they cease talking when you get near them and previously they were just jabbering away. Seen this in stores, but lets get the people who are hiring them regardless of how cheap the work is being done. The contractors as the city managements who allow this to occur are in violation of Federal laws and if this practice continues, then the cities should be held responsible for their actions in allowing this to continue. Everyone is responsible to uphold the laws of the land and using illegal immigrants to be hired and used as labor is against the law.
