Some are going to question the authenticity of the MySpace profile I saw. It was his. There were all sorts of pictures of him and his buddies in Iraq on it, plus one of him and his wife. I suppose one of his friends with photos of him could have made the profile, but why write what he did? In one blog, he stated that his commander has called him in and that his mother and wife have been harrassed and have had to change their phone numbers. In another, he says he this happened over a year ago and he doesn't know how it got on YouTube. He goes on to say he now regrets his actions, but it's clear from his blogs that the remorse is sided toward the fact that he is now facing a court martial, mob lynchings, and a life of hate mail.
I was able to salvage one response to one of Mr. Motari's MySpace "friend" who actually is a dog-lover and chastised him for his behavior on his page (unedited except for profanity):
Motari: "And this is the sh** I have to put up with everywhere I've gone today. Believe me I've heard it all. The thing that you guys don't understand is that you're not out there.
What, you expect me to carry a stray sick dog from patrol 10+ miles back to camp with me. Did you know that we're not supposed to have dogs? Did you know that there isn't medicine available for animals out there? So what the f*** do you want me to do with it. It was going to die a slow and horrible death.
Sorry you guys saw that, but it wasn't supposed to ever been shown. Usually what happens is we shoot them. I was being 'creative' that day and decided to throw the dog instead. If i could take it back, I would. Either way, I did the dog a favor. Sorry if you can't understand that."
O.k....It's one thing to put an ailing animal out of its misery- that's humane. This puppy looked perfectly healthy and plump (not starving as he claims). And what about the fact that he actually takes DELIGHT in hurling the little guy to his death, laughing and joking about it? Disgusting sociopathic pig.

There's nothing that justifies what this guy did if he did indeed do what it appears that he did (just to cover the bases).
There is indeed one thing between shooting a dog in the head for a quick death, and laughing jovially while throwing the dog over a cliff. I haven't seen the video myself and I think I'm okay with that - but I've heard it on the radio.
