Patrick Wilson is an online news reporter for The Virginian-Pilot and PilotOnline.com.

He came to The Pilot in March 2008 from the Winston-Salem Journal in North Carolina, where he covered crime and produced video for the Journal’s Web site. In addition to reporting on crime and weather at The Pilot, Patrick has written about socialists, shot video of old-timers sharing stories on Virginia's Eastern Shore, blogged from the first Old Dominion University football game and reviewed a performance by Norfolk native Timbaland at The NorVa.

In January 2010, he began reporting from the Virginia Beach office of The Pilot. You can find him on Twitter here.

Patrick previously was a reporter at the Potomac News in Prince William County, Va., where he covered local government and courts.

He is a Michigan native and graduated from Michigan State University in 1997 with a degree in journalism.
