Patrick Wilson is the public safety reporter covering Norfolk and Portsmouth for The Virginian-Pilot and PilotOnline.com.
He came to The Pilot as an online news reporter in March 2008 from the Winston-Salem Journal in North Carolina, where he covered crime and produced video for the Journal’s web site.
He moved to the Pilot's Urban Team in April 2010. You can find him on Twitter here.
Patrick previously was a reporter at the Potomac News in Prince William County, Va., where he covered local government and courts.
He is a Michigan native and graduated from Michigan State University in 1997 with a degree in journalism.
Patrick was awarded second place in general news writing in the 2011 Virginia Press Association contest for coverage of a police recruit's death.
