Patrick Wilson is a reporter on the continuous news desk for The Virginian-Pilot and PilotOnline.com.

He came to The Pilot in March 2008 from the Winston-Salem Journal, where he covered crime and produced video for the Journal’s Web site.

He shared a North Carolina Press Association award with other Journal reporters in 2005 for coverage of a triple homicide in Forsyth County, N.C.

Patrick previously was a reporter at the Potomac News in Prince William County, Va., where he covered local government and courts.

He is a Michigan native and graduated from Michigan State University in 1997 with a degree in journalism.
