VIRGINIA BEACH
The City Council on Tuesday night appointed Lyndon Remias as city auditor with a unanimous vote.
Remias, an auditor with Amerigroup, is also a School Board member.
To avoid any appearance of a conflict of interest, Remias announced Tuesday night that he will resign from the board effective May 14.
He will start the job with the city the next day.

Honest and Fair
I know him to be honest and fair. I expect he will be the independent eyes of city council in dealing with the budget and day to day operations and spending.
Good choice Council!
While this and previous articles mention that Lyndon is a School Board member those that know him are not suprised by his selection. Lyndon has been an auditor for many years. He is a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certfied Public Accountant. He is active in the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and served as President of the Tidewater Chapter. He was also the IIA Regional and District Reps. There is no cronyism here he was simply the best candidate.
Council got one Right
The city council got one right this time. They appointed Lyndon Remias as our new City Auditor. The city will be in good hands with Mr. Remias at the helm as our internal watch dog. His credentials and experience will serve the city well. As a former president of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Regional Rep of the IIA, and CPA; as well as a loving Father and Husband, community leader, basketball and soccer coach coach, he has shown that he is responsible both professionally and to his family and community. I for one am proud to have him working for the city I have been a resident in for 30+ years. Welcome aboard Lyndon.
Politics
Any appearance of political crony-ism is purely a coincidence....
Gosh, did anyone else bother to apply?
