This is one strange day for pop culture history...

Weirdest Oprah you’ll ever see: an interview with the pregnant "man"

In a special exclusive feature in this week's People and on today's episode of Oprah, Thomas Beatie, a transgender male, talks about the baby he and wife Nancy are expecting this summer. "If Nancy could get pregnant, I wouldn't be doing this," Beatie tells People of his wife's hysterectomy. "Who hires a surrogate if they are perfectly capable of carrying their own child?"

Watch previews of the show and read about how this is possible on Oprah’s website.

Mariah Carey surpasses Elvis in No. 1s

What is the world coming to? With her 18th chart-topper "Touch My Body," Mariah Carey has passed Elvis Presley for the most No. 1 singles on the Billboard singles chart, and is now second only to the Beatles. But while the diva was in full celebration mode after learning of her latest milestone, she was also quick to put her accomplishment in perspective. "I really can never put myself in the category of people who have not only revolutionized music but also changed the world," Carey told The Associated Press on Tuesday via phone from London. "That's a completely different era and time ... I'm just feeling really happy and grateful." Is she really this humble or has she just been around long enough to say just the right thing?

It's been a rough few weeks for Chace Crawford, who split with Idol champ Carrie Underwood. Online rumors have even bantered about Crawford’s sexuality.

On a random side note – Chace’s lil sis, Candice will compete April 11 in the Miss USA Pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, and her big bro will be there to cheer her on. To capture the crown, Candice will have to impress judges including Heather Mills, Joey Fatone, Rob Schneider and Project Runway winner Christian Siriano.

Malubay, 20, of Miramar, Fla., crooned Dolly Parton's "Do I Ever Cross Your Mind" on Tuesday night's show. Paula Abdul enjoyed the performance. Randy Jackson thought it was OK. But Simon Cowell - not so much.

The five will appear on "Today" on April 4 to address rumors of a reunion.

Seinfeld unhurt after Hamptons car wreck

Jerry Seinfeld was in a harrowing rollover wreck but was unhurt after the brakes on one of his vintage cars failed. Seinfeld was driving alone when the brakes on his 1967 Fiat BTM stopped working Saturday evening, East Hampton Town Police Chief Todd Sarris told the New York Post. Seinfeld tried the emergency brake, to no avail, and then swerved to keep the car from careening into an intersection, Sarris said.

NBC is defining the adult hour

After 10 p.m., NBC is reserving as the “adult hour with scheduling geared towards more grown-up fare. Don't get too excited. It's not like a European-style adult hour with free love and supperfluous body parts. It's quite American, meaning gritty shows, like Law & Order SVU, with mature and sometimes disturbing storylines that kids don't really want to watch anyway.

Pay-per-view funerals

I won’t even pay for boxing, but in Britain pay-per-view funerals went live online this week, allowing mourners who cannot attend services in person to pay their last respects via the internet.
