Orchestra: Join the Hampton Roads Metro Band

Between 45 to 60 people rehearse and perform with the Hampton Roads Metro Band. You can join them if you like.

Just show up with an instrument at a weekly reharsal session, which are held every Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Oaklette United Methodist Church, Oaklette Drive and Indian River Road, Chesapake.  (Get directions to the church.) Check their repertoire to see if you can keep up: http://hrmetroband.org/repertoire.htm

Coming up: The band will perform a free concert of military marches and patriotic songs at 1:30 p.m. April 19 aboard the battleship Wisconsin, next to Nauticus in Downtown Norfolk.

Play for you? If you're planning an event and need a band, call Jack Burkard at 363-8716 or e-mail jkburkard@cox.net. Check out some samples of the band's performances http://hrmetroband.org/recordings.htm.
