Radio stations' sale completed

Posted to: Business

Birach Broadcasting Corp., based in Southfield, Mich., has completed its acquisition of the licenses and assets of Virginia Beach radio stations WVAB and WBVA, paying $345,000 in cash for the two of them.

The Virginia Beach AM stations, which had been in bankruptcy proceedings, had previously been owned by Ronald W. Cowan Jr. The sale was handled by bankruptcy trustee R. Clinton Stackhouse Jr. of Norfolk.

The Federal Communications Commission recently approved an emergency petition that authorized the sale. That action came after someone felled the 200-foot tower that emitted their signals.
