Last year, Norfolk Collegiate rookie rowers Caroline Mears, Mary Kelly, Olivia Smith and a departed German exchange student, along with coxswain Jessie Miller, finished fifth in women's junior fours at the Stotesbury Regatta, the country's top high school crew event.
This spring they have moved up to the more prestigious varsity eight crew.
