VIRGINIA BEACH
Super Bowl hero and Green Run High School graduate Plaxico Burress missed the Manhattan parade feting the New York Giants.
But he plans to be there for Plaxico Burress Day this weekend.
Burress, who caught the winning touchdown in the Giants’ Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots in February, is expected to be here Saturday, when the city celebrates him at Town Center.
The festivities are to start at noon and will include retiring his Green Run jersey.
Events are free and open to the public.
Just in time for the party, the City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved a resolution honoring Burress.

WAY TO GO, PLAXICO!!!!
I'm a HUGE Steelers fan, was sorry to Plax leave for the Giants. Glad he got a ring, although I wished he had gotten it with the Steelers two years ago.
