Sons, daughters, daddies, listen up. If you plan to treat Mother to brunch on May 11, you'd better make it the right brunch. To aid in making this critical Mother's Day decision, we assembled an all-mom panel of taste testers.
The ladies turned a total of 14 children over to their husbands so that they could spend a string of Sundays evaluating the brunches most nominated by readers. We checked out the food, the atmosphere, the pampering factor and the price and found that much like the family vehicle, one size does not fit all.

What they said
"The view is amazing, the color scheme is tasteful and calming. Tables are spaciously spread and not too far from the food. Loved the piano player, too!" - Carmen
"Outstanding! Food choices range from sushi to grits! And there is even a doughnut machine sure to enthrall the youngest family member." - Tammi
"We dined here March 30, but it seemed as if it were Mother's Day. As our napkins were soiled, new ones were brought out. If the silver was stained by food, new ones were given. We never had to ask for anything." - Rochelle
"Each member of my family (all six of us!) would find enough food they liked for us to feel like we got our money's worth. This is certainly not a place to eat at often, but for a special occasion like Mother's Day, it would be a nice event." - Janice

What the judges said
"The selection was amazing. There was a plethora of both breakfast and lunch options - definitely something for everyone." - Carmen
"My made-to-order omelette was excellent, the potatoes and bacon good. All of the food on the serving line was appropriately hot or cold. Strawberries, melon and pineapple were ripe and nicely displayed. I liked everything I tried." - Janice
"A great selection, but nothing too daring. My mother, a non-adventurous eater, would love it." - Tammi
"I could have stayed at the Swan Terrace all day long. We talked and laughed and were comfortable that we were not disturbing the other patrons." - Rochelle

What the judges said
"Loved the view of the bay, the music and the dance floor. It's nice to see people enjoying themselves." - Tammi
"The selection was good. Chicken, macaroni-and-cheese and plain scrambled eggs are a standard kids' choice, and there are omelettes and soup that would appeal to adults." - Carmen
"Simple, home-cooked food.... The wait staff was not catering to our needs." - Rochelle
"Much less expensive than the other restaurants, but much less selection. Possibly good for someone on a fixed budget and fewer expectations." - Janice
