The special effects were good, but nothing we haven't seen before. The story line was predictable. Did anyone REALLY think they weren't going to make it? While I like Danny Glover, he was not believable as the President of the U.S. The villains were generic. Rent this movie, but don't waste your time or money seeing it in a theater.

Edge of My Seat! Remember this is over the top Hollywood. Wonderful effects! Some really profound messages in this movie if you pay attention. I was wiped out when it was all over....but VERY entertained. Notice at the end, all are one....land mass and the population. Great Movie...

Lotsa fun! And, that's the bottom line. If you can't kick back, munch the popcorn, and enjoy this one, then why do you even bother to go to the movies in the first place? 2012 is a fantasy/sci-fi piece. Take it too seriously and nit pick each and every implausible sequence, then maybe you need to be one of those imagination void souls left off the Ark for the good of humanity.
