Okay, a cemetery may seem an unusual place to restore the spirit. But this is a special place of hilly terrain, ancient cedars and fascinating grave monuments. Enjoy this quiet place in the center of the city.

Doff your hat ... to Mr. Peanut

You’ll find a Mr. Peanut statue, one of Suffolk’s most famous citizens, at Character Corner, Main and Washington Streets, downtown. The Planters Peanut Center is nearby, so load up on hot roasted peanuts.

Go fish ... at Lone Star Lakes

The huge park, in the Chuckatuck section, features 11 crystal-clear lakes for freshwater fishing. You’ll also find playground equipment, nature trails and even a model airplane flying field. Bob House Parkway.
