A cold front expected to move across Hampton Roads, northeast North Carolina and the Eastern Shore later today will bring a risk for strong thunderstorms to develop, according to the National Weather Service.
Severe weather across the entire region isn’t likely, but some areas could see strong gusty winds and heavy rain, according to the forecast on the weather service Web site.
The forecast calls for temperatures today to be near 81.
Showers and storms are expected to continue tonight with a slight chance of showers after 11 p.m., the weather service says. The low should be about 57.
The wet weather will clear out for Saturday and the high should be near 79, the weather service says. The low tomorrow night is expected to be in the low 60s.
Look for showers to return Sunday and continue through the first part of next week, the forecast says.
