The Copy Desk edits copy, writes headlines and photo captions and proofs the newspaper each day. Some copy editors also edit graphics. Some copy editors work on projects periodically. Some also design inside pages for the A and Hampton Roads sections. In addition, a few copy editors are also trained to perform other duties, such as wire editing.
