David B. Hollingsworth joined The Virginian Pilot / Ledger-Star on April 22nd 1976 as the photo dept. laboratory technician. After two years in that position Hollingsworth was put on staff as the Suffolk photographer. In 1979, he moved to the Virginia Beach bureau where he stayed for 20 years. Hollingsworth was promoted to his current position, photo dept. mgr. in 1999 and added to his responsibilities news imaging team leader in 2002.

Hollingsworth is married to Linda and they reside in Chesapeake.
