Defending New Jersey

Re 'Dust-up over beaches brings unwarranted bashing of ours,' column by Kerry Dougherty, May 18:

Mocking New Jersey and its coast from afar without saying anything new, accurate or remotely insightful, leaving those of us who actually know the beaches here (beyond an adolescent toe-dip two decades ago) to wonder if you ever really visited is a journalistic cop-out.

It is another demonstration of the unfair geographical bigotry that persists in this country, evidently to make unhappy people like Dougherty feel better about their inadequate hometowns. You could do better.

Don't know a lot of $2.00 words or how to use them, also have a habit of telling people what they don't want hear or should say afraid to hear?
But I do know a stink pot when I see or smell one.!
My main subjects and the word I hope to get out is DEAD BEAT PARENTS , and what a joke ($0.15 word) VA's CHILD SUPPORT an COURTS are on this matter!
Year ago this May, channel 13 news (Lindsey Roberts) showed interest in doing a report on DEAD BEAT PARENTS but she dropped it like a HOT POTATO !
I would send her an up date about each month and not a peep in return! State of VA alone in 2007 DEAD BEAT were 2.4 BILLON $$$$ in arrears (WHO CARES)
Just the other day Hampton Road.com deleted my DEAD BEAT DAD photo from the photo group ,no names just what he was in rear!
Oh well guess there's Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Press and then there's Freedom of Speech & Freedom of Press !

While I in no way want to defend Kerry...get real, I have been to NJ's beaches. In fact, the states name is used in geology as a negative term. The "New Jersiazation" is often taught as how not to preserve and maintain a beach. In all fairness, Cape May is nice though.
