NORFOLK

Four people were injured in a crash Saturday afternoon in West Ocean View, Norfolk police said.

A car collided with a bus at 2:05 p.m., Sgt. Jim Robertson said. The injuries were not life-threatening, he said.

A Hampton Roads Transit bus was turning from Duffys Lane onto West Ocean View Avenue when a Nissan going east on West Ocean View collided with the bus. The Nissan caught fire.

Two people from the Nissan were taken to a hospital to be treated for injuries.

“The initial report was that they were taken out of the car by someone on the scene,” Robertson said.

Two passengers on the bus also were hospitalized; one complained of smoke inhalation and the other complained of shock, Robertson said.

No charges have been filed, but police are investigating.
